Connecting our communities
We’re building the Mile High Line to better connect Denver’s neighborhoods and create vibrant new gathering places stretching from South Broadway to the National Western campus. By transforming public spaces into welcoming destinations for walking, biking, recreation, and community events, we’re bringing neighborhoods closer together and creating more opportunities for Denverites to connect, explore, and enjoy the city we call home.
This vision connects all of Denver’s values. The Mile High Line is many things:
- It’s an economic strategy – these projects will support tens of thousands of jobs.
- It’s a housing strategy – we will open thousands of new homes across this line.
- It’s a transit strategy – these projects sit on existing light rail, and we will link them together with a series of bike and pedestrian paths allowing you to live there without owning a car.
- It’s a climate strategy – walkable neighborhoods powered by geothermal and renewable energy with hundreds of acres of new parks.
- And it’s an equity strategy – every one of these investments will be made in parts of the city that have waited too long for investment.
These projects will be shaped by community voices across Denver and are guided by one promise: that the people who make these neighborhoods what they are must be able to afford to stay and share in what comes next.
